Technology Committee

The Technology Committee serves as an ad hoc committee to the City Council in all matters relating to technology-related services of the City. The Committee provides recommendations to the City Council and City Manager on issues of community-wide interests relating to information technology and internet services. The Committee researches issues, collects public input, and strategically encourages affordable access to city-wide technological services.

Request for Proposal (RFP) - Broadband Network Design & Financial Model

The purpose of the RFP is to acquire the services of a consultant to provide a high-level design and financial model for existing and future broadband needs. The study should assess 1) the cost of installation, operation, and maintenance of a broadband network; and 2) the revenues generated from retail services and third-party network access. The report should include a financial model that allows dynamic adjustments in cost and revenue assumptions across a recommended time horizon. The deadline for all proposal submissions was on January 24, 2020. The Technology Committee will be evaluating, scoring and ranking proposals at their scheduled meeting on February 11, 2020.
