Behind the Scenes of Lucas Water Infrastructure

Posted on June 5, 2025

An upward view of a tall concrete water tower with a flared white cap at the top, set against a cloudy sky. A group of people, including a Lucas Fire-Rescue member, is seen entering through a large open door at the base. Part of a white pickup truck is visible in the lower left corner, and trees line the background. Inside a large cylindrical water storage tank, several people — including Lucas Fire-Rescue personnel — look upward toward the top of the tall concrete structure. The space is industrial, with exposed pipes, valves, and overhead lighting. The massive scale of the tank is emphasized by the curved concrete walls towering above the group.

An indoor view of an electrical control room showing a large, gray Eaton motor control center (MCC) with multiple switches, gauges, and control panels. To the right, a smaller wall-mounted panel displays a digital screen with conduit pipes running neatly below it. The equipment is clean and organized within a well-lit, metal-paneled room. A group of firefighters and city staff stand outside a building with garage bays during a tour. Public Works Director Jeremy Bogle, in a navy shirt and jeans, speaks to the group. The attendees, some in fire uniforms and others in casual or city staff attire, listen attentively. A fire truck is partially visible in the background, and trees line the edge of the property.

Public Works Director Jeremy Bogle speaks to a group of attendees during a tour inside a water pump facility. Lucas Fire-Rescue personnel, City staff, and community members gather around large blue industrial pipes and machinery, listening attentively. The room is brightly lit with white paneled walls and exposed steel beams. Two large, light blue cylindrical water storage tanks stand on a well-maintained grassy field under a cloudy sky. One tank is prominently in the foreground, showing a visible pipe attachment at the base, while the second tank is positioned farther back near a fence and some trees.

Over the past few days, Public Works Director Jeremy Bogle has led special behind-the-scenes tours for City Council, City Staff, and Lucas Fire-Rescue team members — showcasing the vital infrastructure that keeps our community running.

From water towers to pump stations, participants got an up-close look at the systems that support our daily water needs — including the newest addition: a 750,000-gallon ground storage tank installed in 2024 on West Lucas Road. This expansion plays a key role in increasing storage capacity and ensuring reliable service for our growing city.

Big thanks to Jeremy and the Public Works Department for their continued dedication to infrastructure excellence and transparency! 👷‍♂️👏
