We’re thrilled to share that this is the beginning of a major park upgrade that will bring two brand-new playgrounds to the heart of Lucas. More fun, more adventure, and more smiles are on the way for our local families!

The removal of the old playground marks the first step in a transformative project designed to make Forest Creek Park an even better place to play, explore, and gather. The upgraded playgrounds will offer modern features and inclusive design — creating an inviting, imaginative space for children of all ages and abilities.

This exciting enhancement is made possible thanks to a generous partnership with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). Through the Local Parks Grant Program, TPWD supports cities like ours by investing in public outdoor spaces that enhance quality of life — funded in part by a portion of the state sales tax on sporting goods.
