Background Information

The East Lucas Road reconstruction project is an expansion project of the existing roadway to a six-lane roadway. While in its preliminary stages, the project is set to address the regional population growth and the increased commuter traffic across Lake Lavon.

Planning for this project is still underway. More updates will be provided on this page as the project moves forward.

April 2024

  • City of Lucas staff received updates on the status of the roadway project including initial design concepts for a six-lane road widening, speed limit expectations, addressing curvature in the existing roadway, environmentally sensitive areas located nearby, and addressing bicycle/pedestrian traffic located on the bridge across Lavon Lake.
