The City Council will conduct a public hearing on the proposed tax rate for fiscal year 2025-2026 on Monday, August 25, 2025 (Special Meeting), at 6:35 pm (or immediately following the Lucas Fire Control, Prevention and EMS District meeting to be held at 6:30 pm). The adoption of the ordinance approving the tax rate will occur following the public hearing. The meeting will take place at City Hall, located at 665 Country Club, Lucas, Texas 75002. Per Section 26.05 of the Property Tax Code, the following language is required for adoption of the proposed tax rate.
CITY OF LUCAS ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE.
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 12.21% AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $17.86.
